Young Architect series View Series >
This informative series is beautifully illustrated with large colored photographs, appealing cartoon-like drawings and instructional diagrams. Written from an architect’s point of view, there is a two-page spread in each text titled, “Architect’s notebook”. These pages include information on construction methods, materials used, how to draw plans, the importance of foundations and making scale models. The information is not too technical, however, and the anecdotal style will hold young reader’s interest. Key words are highlighted in bold and defined in a glossary. There is also a table of contents, introduction, index and a bibliography page (Learning More) included in each volume. An innovative series, it should prove to be a very popular addition to an elementary school library collection. - Resource Links (04/14)
