Using a Calculator - Children's Literature
Today, it seems like all the kids are using calculators at school and at home. In this title which is part of the “My Path to Math” series, a basic calculator is introduced. What makes the book more valuable to those of us who did not have calculators in school is the comments about working out problems on paper and in your head and then using the calculator to check the answer. The young girl depicted in this book has received a calculator as a present and is using it to work on problems related to her family reunion and to also calculate how old her dog is in dog years.
