Baby animals in water habitats
From the Series The Habitats of Baby Animals
Some animals live in fresh water, and some in salt water. This book introduces both kinds of habitats but focuses on freshwater rivers, lakes, ponds, and wetlands. Children will be fascinated by pictures of baby hippos, geese, swans, alligators, tigers, muskrats, nutrias, river otters, and more. They will learn about the life cycle of frogs and dragonflies in ponds. Photosynthesis and food chains are also explained with diagrams using photos of plants and animals.

Baby animals in water habitats - Children's Literature
The idyllic scene of swans and their young make an attractive cover and it would be hard not to pick up and look at this book which is part of the “Habitats of Baby Animals” series. Baby animals hold a lot of appeal and not only for young readers. The animals on the title page are also quite eye-catching. The books in the series have a similar structure—a table of contents page which is entitled “What is in this book?” followed by several chapters that describe the habitat and feature the types of animals one would find in it.
