Golf - Booklist
This entry in the Science Behind the Athlete series (6 titles) is an excellent elementary-school- friendly introduction to golf. Beginning with a series of guided questions for adults and caregivers to help young people with comprehension, the book covers the history and current state of the sport, aided by plenty of color photographs of equipment and courses, which should help readers grasp the information. A brief section on golf statistics and their significance and technology such as robotic mowers and drones offer helpful STEM links. In addition to frequent inset boxes called “Golf Guides” that contain engaging trivia, the book also includes a glossary and a comprehension quiz. Recommended for school libraries with a demand for sports nonfiction, especially where golf is popular.
